Prior to joining Melior, he was the corporate senior\u00a0vice president composites for Nexeo Solutions, a $4 billion Texas Pacific Group Company. His responsibilities included all strategic and commercial activities for a $500 million business unit as\u00a0well as expanding the company\u2019s capabilities into China.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to Nexeo, he was the number two executive at Rhetech, a specialty chemicals\u00a0and\u00a0compounding company, where he was responsible for all strategic, commercial and engineering activities.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, he spent 11\u00a0years at Owens Corning, in positions rising through the ranks to the role of director of strategic marketing. Early in his career, Hopkins was a strategic consultant for Cap Gemini for several years.<\/p>\n<p>Hopkins has a doctorate\u00a0in organic chemistry from the University of Kent (UK) and a <span class=\"st\">Bachelor of Science in Chemistry<\/span>\u00a0with first-class honors from University of London.
